Vision - Vision screening is provided each year to children in Kindergarten through 12th grades. If your child does not pass his/her vision screening, a referral form will be sent home with the student. Your child should be examined by an eye physician for further evaluation and treatment, if needed. School vision screenings do not take the place of a thorough eye examine
action by an eye doctor. Please make sure your child has a full eye exam annually or as recommend by your health care provider.
Hearing –
Hearing screening is provided each year to children in Kindergarten,
1st through 3rd, 7th and 11th grades, and special un-graded classes.
Screenings are also provided with teacher or parent requests. If your
child does not pass his/her hearing screening, a referral form will be
sent home with the student for further evaluation and treatment, if
needed.
Scoliosis -The Pennsylvania Department of Health has adopted regulations requiring each child in grades
6 and 7 and age appropriate (11 and 12 years of age) children in
ungraded classes to be
screened for scoliosis. This screening will take place during physical
education classes in 7th grade. Six graders will be receiving their
scoliosis check during the mandated physical examination.
